A trip to Alaska is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, according to the Alaska Travel Industry Association.
Britons hunting for the perfect destination for their next big holiday might want to consider Alaska.
While the US state is not cheap, it could offer an unforgettable getaway, the Alaska Travel Industry Association says.
Jacqi Todd, UK representative for the organisation, says price is not the main reason why people travel to Alaska on a holiday.
"It's got to be a special trip; you've got to budget for it and you've got to save for it and then it will be very worthwhile, but it will never be on the cheap end," she comments.
Looking for cheap
holiday insurance could help to minimise the cost of a break in Alaska.
Some of the state's main attractions include scenic spots such as Prince of Wales Island, the Denali National Park and Preserve and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
Its most popular cities and towns, meanwhile, include Anchorage and Fort Yukan.
There are many possibilities for itineraries focusing on specific parts of Alaska at different times of the year - one such trip takes advantage of the long hours of daylight to the north of the state in the
summer via Fairbanks.
