Visiting Boston could be the ideal holiday for many different types of traveller, according ton one official.
Arranging a visit to Boston might be ideal for a wide range of different visitors, according to one official.
Larry Meehan, vice president of tourism at Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, explained how the area has lots to offer families, couples and those looking for an action-packed destination to keep them entertained.
A number of airlines provide direct flights to the location, including American Airlines, Delta Airlines, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, which could make it a popular spot for those on the lookout for a stress-free holiday abroad.
"[Visitors] should definitely explore our great neighbourhoods - the South End, the Fenway, Harvard, Central and Kendall Squares in Cambridge," Mr Meehan continued, adding that Boston Harbour and the area surrounding the Charles River are ideal spots for cycling.
Music lovers could sample the jazz clubs on the expert's recommendation, while those who want to see the sights might buy a Go Boston Card or Boston CityPass to make trips more cost effective.
The CharlieCard is similar to London's Oyster Card and Mr Meehan states spending £9.50 per week would help tourists travel around without breaking the bank.
Holiday insurance policyholders considering a trip to Boston may be among those looking for tips on DiscoverAmerica.com. The website has placed the city in the top five most searched-for destinations alongside Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City.
The number of UK visitors to the website increased by 65 per cent in January 2011, when compared with the same month in the previous year.
