The northern Spanish city of A Coruna could be an ideal holiday destination, an expert has said.
Spanish holiday resorts such as Tenerife, Magaluf and Ibiza have been well-known in Britain for many years.
For those looking for a Mediterranean city break, the bustling metropolis' of Madrid and Barcelona and the stunning architectural hub of Valencia have all long been regarded as three of the best options on the continent.
However, another Spanish city is now ready to add its name to the country's list of popular tourist destinations, an expert has said.
According to Antonio Fontenla, acting president of A Coruna's chamber of commerce, the northern urban area offers an eclectic range of cultural activities to rival its more famous counterparts in other areas of the country.
And with trivago's recent Hotel Price Index report stating that the cost of accommodation across the continent has now dropped for the first time in 2010 - the average price of a hotel room in Europe is now £97 per night - there may have never been a better time to visit A Coruna.
"I advise people to experience this historical, entertaining and cultural city that the people that have already visited love," remarked Mr Fontenla.
The expert went on to say that the city plays host to many art galleries and museums where visitors can see a range of paintings and sculptures from different historical eras as well as more contemporary offerings.
Mr Fontenla concluded that visitors will not be disappointed with A Coruna's "people, architecture and gastronomy".
