Flooding in south of country severely affect road travel

Since early August 2008 heavy rains have caused widespread flooding in southern Togo. The floods have cut off roads and damaged bridges, severely affecting road travel, in particular between the north and south of the country. The rail network has also been affected with several sections cut off.
