Two bombs hit Public Health Ministry
23 Mar 2010
Two bombs hit the Public Health Ministry complex in Bangkok on 23 March 2010, shortly after a Cabinet meeting adjourned. There were no reports of casualties or damage to the compound. Meanwhile, an estimated 15,000 United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters continue to rally at Phan Fa bridge.
The situation remains tense in Bangkok and various security measures are in place to prevent widespread violence or unrest.
UDD protesters plan to hold a candlelight vigil at 2000 local time (1300 UTC) on 24 March for the ailing King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Another mass rally is planned for 27 March during which significant disruptions are expected.
