Large demonstration in Bangkok planned for this weekend

A demonstration attended by an estimated 50,000 people is planned by anti-government red-shirted protestors on 27 and 28 June at Sanam Luang, opposite the Grand Palace. Travellers are advised to avoid any large political gatherings in Bangkok as they could turn violent.
