Bangkok situation update

On 27 November 2008, the Prime Minister announced a temporary state of emergency covering both Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang Airports. You should, therefore, totally avoid both of these airports until further notice. You are advised to avoid the area around Government House, which anti-government protesters are occupying, and nearby Ratchadamnoen "Nok" Road, including the area around Metropolitan Police HQ and Parliament At around 0200 hours on the morning of 28 November there was a bomb blast at the ASTV offices on Phra Arthit Road. It caused an amount of damages but no injuries. There remains the possibility of further violence.
