We, at Direct Travel Insurance, are committed to protecting your privacy. As a result we take security very seriously to protect both you and us. The details that we collect from you are collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and are used for the creation and operation of your insurance policy.

The following information should answer all your questions regarding privacy and security.

How do we use the information you supply?

  • In order for us to send you a complete set of insurance documents we require your name and address. A contact telephone number is necessary in case a situation should arise where we need to urgently contact you.

  • We also require an e-mail address to send you immediate confirmation of your purchase. By supplying us with an e-mail address you are permitting us to send you policy details of your purchased insurance to the address supplied.

  • To allow us to issue you with a valid policy we require details of your travel plans and the name of those you wish to insure.

  • For the travel insurance you purchase to be valid we need to know the age category of each traveller, we also ask a couple of medical questions in order to ensure you are eligible for the cover we offer. We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

  • We will never give your information to an outside organisation, unless it is required for the performance of your agreement with us, or it is needed for the purpose of the law.

Please note that calls to us may be recorded for quality and training purposes. We will hold up to-date accurate information about you, as a client, which you can check by contacting us. If this information is incorrect we will amend your details immediately on your instruction.

Because of the nature of our product and the destination of your travel, it may be necessary for us to transfer your details outside the European Economic Area (EEA). By purchasing a policy you consent to us doing so.

How do we make your information secure?

We use the very latest, industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This technology encrypts the information you enter, prevents other computers impersonating your computer and prevents third parties reading or changing your information as it travels over the Internet. If you are unhappy about entering your payment information on-line, then you are more than welcome to call our offices in West Sussex to finalise your booking.
