Tropical Storm Kalmaegi moving toward Taiwan

As of 0900 UTC on 16 July 2008, Tropical Storm Kalmaegi was steadily moving toward Taiwan; it is expected to make landfall within the next 18-24 hours. According to meteorologists at Wilkens Weather Technologies, Kalmaegi will continue to strengthen and increase in speed due to a high pressure ridge to the west of the storm. Currently, Kalmaegi is traveling northwest at 5 mph/4 kt and has maximum sustained winds of more than 63 mph/55 kt, with gusts of more than 81 mph/70 kt.
