Hand, foot & mouth update from CDC

As of July 8, 2008, the Centers for Disease Control, R.O.C. Taiwan, (Taiwan CDC) has reported a total of 311 confirmed HFMD cases this year, including 10 deaths. The majority of cases have been caused by EV71. Due to the decreasing numbers of cases reported each week, Taiwan CDC is reporting that the outbreak is waning. The importance of good hygiene and prompt medical attention for children showing severe symptoms has been encouraged.
