Train Strike In Spain

Employees of Spain's state-owned rail operator Renfe are staging a one-day strike on 31 March 2010 to protest the reclassification of some workers' positions. The work stoppage resulted in the cancellation of approximately 80 trains, including high-speed services between Barcelona and Madrid. Renfe expects to operate between 65 and 72 percent of its scheduled services during the strike, which will end at midnight local time on 31 March.
