Small bomb explosion in tourist area

A small bomb exploded in the resort town of Torremolinos -- which is located approximately 265 mi/428 km south of Madrid in the southern region of Andalusia -- at approximately 0200 local time on 29 July 2008. The blast occurred on a beach near the Hotel Sol Aloha in the La Carihuela district. No one was injured despite the fact that hundreds of vacationers were in the area at the time. No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing, for which there had been no warning; however, the Basque separatist group ETA is suspected.
