Severe weather lashes parts of the country

Severe weather affected France and areas of Spain on 24 January 2009 Parts of a sports centre collapsed in Barcelona due to the severe weather, killing at least four children and injuring nine more. Separately, a woman died when a wall collapsed on her and a traffic officer was also killed from a falling tree. At least 15 people have died in France and Spain as a result of the storm.
