Fire traps 40 following clash between protesters & police

A clash between protesters and police officers in Seoul on 20 January 2009 resulted in a fire that trapped 40 tenants in a downtown building, ultimately killing five people. Demonstrators, upset over the slated demolition of the occupied building, reportedly threw Molotov cocktails from the roof of the building before the fire started. Emergency services extinguished most of the blazes and moved into the building to evacuate those trapped by the fire.
