Somali pirates released the Turkish cargo vessel

On 29 July 2010 Somali pirates released the Turkish cargo vessel Frigia along with its crew. The ship was seized off the Indian coast on 23 March 2010 and its crew was held hostage in a Somali port. All 21 crew members, who include 19 Turks and two Ukrainians, are alive and well according to a lawyer representing the ship’s operator. The ship is currently en route to meet the Turkish frigate Gelibolu off the coast of Somalia and afterward will head to the port of Salalah in Oman.
