Explosion on a minibus in Vladikavkaz, capital of the North Ossetia region in southern Russia

On 6 November 2008 an explosion -- allegedly caused by a bomb -- occurred on a minibus in Vladikavkaz, capital of the North Ossetia region in southern Russia. The incident occurred on Kuibysheva Street, near a local movie theater and market; as many as 11 people were killed and 28 others were injured. Emergency services personnel were dispatched to the scene, but no further information regarding this development is available. The region -- which borders Georgia's South Ossetia as well as Chechnya -- has experienced several bombings in the past.
