Direct Travel Insurance now offers scheduled airline financial failure cover

At a time of much television and press coverage over airlines going bankrupt and leaving tens of thousands of passengers stranded, Direct Travel Insurance is introducing Scheduled Airline Failure Cover.

The company will pay up to £1,500 – depending on the claim - to each traveller for any additional costs incurred in replacing that part of their flight arrangements.

Direct Travel Insurance is giving all Premier Plus Annual policy holders and Senior Citizens Annual policy holders this extra cover completely free of charge.

Mark Shaw, Managing Director at Direct Travel Insurance, said: “Looking after our customers is paramount to us, and in the light of the current events we wanted to offer this extra cover at no or very little cost to them”.

The Direct Travel Insurance website also offers customers the cover on certain policy types.

This policy is provided by the International Passenger Protection (IPP). For a list of airlines currently deemed ‘at risk’ and therefore excluded from cover, visit http://www.ipplondon.co.uk/airline-news.asp
