The winners of a dream holiday competition run by travel insurance experts Direct Travel Insurance has £10,000 to spend on the trip of a lifetime.
The bumper sum that was offered as first prize in the insurer’s big summer promotion will allow one family or group of friends to set off for a luxurious break in an amazing location.
To be automatically entered in the prize draw, all customers had to do was buy one of Direct Travel Insurance’s annual multi-trip, single trip, ski or backpacker travel insurance policies for as little as £2.06.
The winners can now choose the destination of their dreams – be it a 5-star holiday on a paradise island, a round-the-world adventure, all-expenses-paid family trip to Disney World or whatever they prefer – with Direct Travel Insurance picking up the bill, to the sum of £10,000.
The competition ran from 4 July to 29 September and the dream holiday for up to four people was not the only prize on offer. As part of the summer double giveaway, customers were also entered in a weekly prize draw to win an Amazon Kindle.
Direct Travel Insurance gave away 13 Kindles, one a week over the course of the promotion. The e-book readers allow users to carry all their holiday reading (and much more) on one slim device, so lightening the load in winners’ suitcases next time they travel.
Whether they prefer a fast-paced thriller for the beach, historical novel or celebrity autobiography, they will have as much as they can read at their fingertips.
