Tropical Storm to strengthen before making landfall

Tropical Storm 18W is moving on a course toward northern Japan on 19 September 2008. As of 0900 UTC, this storm was located approximately 875 mi/1,410 km west of Guam, with maximum sustained winds of 46 mph/40 kt. According to meteorologists at Wilkens Weather Technologies, it is expected to strengthen before making landfall on the northern edge of the island of Luzon on 22 or 23 September.
