TROPICAL STORM HEADING FOR PHILIPPINES

A storm system moving toward the Philippines has been declared a tropical storm. Tropical Storm 23W is expected to continue slowly gaining strength as it moves west. It is forecast to hit the northern island of Luzon on 31 October with maximum sustained winds of 121 mph/105 kt. As of the 27th October, the storm was located 132 mi/213 km northwest of Guam, with maximum sustained winds of 46 mph/40 kt.
