Bus bombed whilst at Digos City terminal

Local sources indicated that a Davao-bound bus (LDS-506) was bombed at a terminal in Digos City at approximately 1150 local time on 24 July 2008. Reports differ on whether the bus exploded at the terminal building or as it approached the terminal. Police and army officials initially stated that 27 people were injured and there were no fatalities; however, other military sources stated that four people have been confirmed dead. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack; however, officials have indicated that the bombing was an act of terrorism perpetrated by the New People's Army (NPA). An investigation is currently underway.
