A small bomb was discovered outside the city hall building in Zamboanga

Police officers in the city of Zamboanga announced that a small bomb was discovered outside the main city hall building on 11 September 2008. Authorities stated that a bomb squad safely defused the explosive device and no one was injured. Reports indicate that approximately 6.6 lb/3 kg of explosives were hidden inside a backpack and then placed in vacant lot near the city hall building. Local teenagers discovered the bomb and notified police officers.
