3 aid workers kidnapped

The Philippine National Red Cross have reported that gunmen have abducted three aid workers. The three from Italy, Switzerland and the Philippines were kidnapped on southern Jolo island,whilst in a car on their way to Jolo airport. They had been visiting a local jail when they were intercepted by armed men on motorbikes. They had been carrying out a water and sanitation project to improve the condition of detainees. The aid workers' driver and two other Filipinos were released and reported the incident.
