PeruRail state they will suspend services on the Cusco-Machu Picchu and Cusco-Puno routes indefinitely, until the farmers' strike ends over safety conditions is over

Peruvian train company PeruRail will halt services on 4 November 2008 to coincide with the beginning of an indefinite strike planned by farmers regarding poor safety conditions for the agrarian sector in the country. The strike will affect the Cusco-Machu Picchu and the Cusco-Puno routes. PeruRail stated that it will completely suspend services until the farmers' strike ends and safety conditions improve. In order to accommodate tourists affected by this strike, refunds will be given or trips can be rescheduled
