Earthquake occurs off the eastern coast of Papua New Guinea

On 5 August 2010 an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 occurred off the eastern coast of Papua New Guinea. The quake’s epicenter was located approximately 45 mi/75 km east-southeast of Kimbe, at a depth of 33.6 mi/54 km. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
