Earthquake hits Panama-Costa Rica border

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit the Panama-Costa Rica border region on 19 November 2008. US Geological Survey analysts reported that the quake hit at a depth of 30 mi/48 km and was centered near the town of David, Panama. Eyewitnesses stated that the tremor could be felt as far away as San Jose in Costa Rica. There have been no reports of any major disruptions or damage caused by the earthquake.
