15,000 march in Panama City over wages & rising food prices

On 14 August 2008 approximately 15,000 people marched on Avenida Central and Avenida B in Panama City to demand higher wages and government action against rising food prices. The march ended with a rally in Independence Square near the presidential building. There were no reports clashes between protesters and police officers. Protests also occurred in the David, Santiago and Changuinola.
