U.N official abducted

An American U.N. official was abducted by gunmen in the city of Quetta in southwest Pakistan on 2 February 2009. The man and his Pakistani driver were ambushed as they travelled to the city's U.N. refugee office. The driver was shot and killed when the gunmen opened fire on the vehicle.
