Power cuts in Lahore

Unscheduled power outages due to a shortage of electricity are occurring in Lahore. While the local power company has announced outages of eight hours, local sources indicate that outages are lasting 12 to 15 hours. The shortages are being blamed on the fact that several hydroelectric dams in Pakistan have had to reduce their output due to ongoing de-silting work.
