British Airways suspends services to Pakistan

On 23 September 2008 British Airways announced the suspension of its services to Pakistan in the aftermath of the 20 September bombing of the Islamabad Marriot Hotel, which killed at least 50 people. The airline stated that it is halting its six weekly flights from Heathrow Airport (EGLL/LHR) in London due to the current security situation. The airline had previously announced that it was halting service for a week but decided to withhold service until further notice. EUROPE
