ATTACK ON RELIGIOUS PROCESSION KILLS 22

A suicide bomber attacked a Shiite religious procession on MA Jinnah Road in the Qasba More area of Karachi on 28 December 2009. Reports indicate that the blast killed at least 22 people and injured more than 60 others. The explosion triggered a stampede among the worshippers. Violence has been reported in Karachi in the aftermath of the bombing. Angry crowds have pelted police officers and ambulances with stones, and gunfire has been reported throughout the city.
