95 Killed in Bomb Attack at Volleyball Game
04 Jan 2010
On 1 January 2010 a suicide bomber attacked spectators at a volleyball game in the town of Laki Marwat, which is located in the Bannu district in the North-West Frontier Province. The attack killed at least 95 people, making it the second deadliest attack to occur since the beginning of 2009. The blast destroyed a nearby house and damaged a mosque. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, though there are suspicions that the bombing targeted a local anti-Taliban militia.
