STRIKE BY ROYAL AIR MAROC PILOTS CAUSES DISRUPTIONS
04 Sep 2009
Royal Air Maroc pilots began a strike on 3 September over an ongoing dispute with RAM’s administration regarding the company's practice of hiring foreign pilots for less pay. The strike grounded all RAM flights and created long lines and traffic disruptions at some airports. Pilot union representatives claimed that approximately 96 percent of the company's pilot employees are taking part in the strike. The strike, which continued on 4 September, is the latest in a series of protest actions RAM pilots have carried out in recent months over the hiring dispute.
