Concerns over possible violence at Labour day demonstrations

Tensions between the authorities and Trade Unions are currently high over the introduction of a new Highway Code and other issues. There is a possibility that demonstrations planned for 01 May 2009 (Labour Day) could turn violent. Travellers should take sensible precautions for their personal safety and avoid public gatherings and demonstrations.
