U.S authorities close section of highway in El Paso, Texas following shooting

On 21 August 2010 a shootout between security forces and suspected drug traffickers in Ciudad Juarez prompted authorities on the U.S. side of the border to close a section of a highway in El Paso, Texas, for approximately 30 minutes. It was the first time a street in El Paso has been closed due to a shooting on the Mexico side of the border; there were no reports of bullets crossing into El Paso. The incident began when gunmen attacked a municipal police patrol. One of the gunmen was killed in the incident, while three police officers suffered injuries. ASIA
