TROPICAL STORM UPDATE

On 5 August 2009 Hurricane Felicia was located approximately 1,365 mi/2,196 km west-southwest of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula. The storm was moving west-northwest at a speed of 12 mph/10 kt, and its maximum sustained winds registered at 105 mph/91 kt. Tropical Storm Enrique was centered approximately 825 mi/1,237 km west-southwest of the Baja California Peninsula. Enrique was tracking west-northwest at 15 mph/13 kt with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph/43 kt. Meteorologists are now expecting Hurricane Felicia to absorb Tropical Storm Enrique. Felicia is forecast to become a Category 3 hurricane later on 5 August.
