Gunmen attack TV station
07 Jan 2009
Gunmen threw a grenade and fired shots at a Grupo Televisa TV station in the Centro area of Monterrey during an evening news broadcast. The gunmen left a note on a car outside the station warning journalists to stop covering the drug war. The attack caused damage to some of the station's facilities and nearby cars, but did not result in any injuries. The Mexican army and Federal Preventive Police have increased security at other major TV stations in Monterrey.
