Transport disrupted as strike enters 2nd day

An indefinite transport strike entered it second consecutive day on 15 July 2008. Transportation disruptions continue, despite government efforts to set up emergency transport and permit other operators -- such as black chauffeur-driven cars -- at Malta International Airport (LMML/MLA). Protesting drivers have attempted to block some of the emergency services being offered, but thus far there have not been any significant violence. Significant traffic disruptions were reported on the roads leading into the capital city of Valletta during the morning rush hour.
