Air traffic controllers stage 2 hr strike

Macedonian air traffic controllers staged a two-hour strike beginning at 1000 local time (0800 UTC) on 16 April 2009 to protest a government plan to force the collection of overdue taxes from the Civil Air Traffic Agency. The work stoppage reportedly halted takeoffs and landings at Skopje (LWSK/SKP) and Ohrid (LWOH/OHD) airports, but did not affect overflights.
