Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport experiencing fuel shortages

Aviation authorities at Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport (OLBA/BEY) announced on 20 May 2010 that the airport is currently experiencing fuel shortages that are expected to persist until 23 May. A fuel shipment received on 11 May was allegedly defective; because of this development, the airport currently has only half its normal supplies. The shortages are not affecting flight schedules, as authorities are requesting that airlines operating into the facility carry additional fuel to supplement the reduced refueling allowance at the airport. A new fuel shipment will arrive on 23 May.
