Port workers strike affects port operations

Hundreds of Kuwaiti port workers have gone on strike today at three commercial ports to press their demands for better working conditions and higher salaries. The strike has significantly affected operations at the ports. Port workers are demanding a 35 percent wage increase, and it is not known if the government is engaging in talks with them. The workers have stated that the strike will continue until their demands are met. Such actions are not common in Kuwait.
