FUNDING APPROVED FOR ADDIS ABABA-NAIROBI-MOMBASSA ROAD

On 2 July 2009 the African Development Fund (ADF) approved US$ 326.5 million in funding for a road linking Addis Ababa, Nairobi and Mombassa. The project aims to increase trade between Kenya and Ethiopia and allow Ethiopian goods to reach the port of Mombassa. Officials plan to eventually expand the road in order to increase the volume of trade in the East Africa and Horn of Africa regions
