Tension increases following Israeli action on Gaza

Tension in Jordan has risen following Israeli military action in Gaza which began on 27 December. Public opinion has reacted strongly to reports of civilian casualties.
The FCO have advised that although there is no specific risk for the safety of British visitors and residents in Jordan but they should be aware of popular feelings and be alert to developments.
