Plane crash closes main runway at Narita Airport

A plane operated by Federal Express crashed at Narita International Airport at 06:50 on 23 March. The main runway has been damaged and remains closed. Direct flights from the UK to Narita, due to arrive on 23 March were diverted to Haneda (Tokyo) and Chubu (Nagoya). Flights due to depart from Narita have been cancelled. Travellers should check with the airline they are with or with your travel agent directly if you are due to travel to or from Narita airport.
