Nippon Airways pilots announce 1 day strike

All Nippon Airways (ANA) pilots have announced that they will stage a one-day strike on 15 April 2009, with more than 18 percent of flights expected to be canceled. Unions representing the pilots stated that the strike was called over a wage dispute between the pilots and management. According to officials, international flights will not be affected by this 24-hour strike; however, 149 domestic flights will potentially be canceled; 14 additional flights also might experience delays and more than 7,000 passengers will be affected.
