EARTHQUAKE NEAR JAPAN'S IZU ISLANDS

On 13 August 2009 at approximately 0750 local time a 6.7 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 32 mi/51 km. The quake's epicentre was located approximately 40 mi/60 km southeast of Japan's Izu Islands. There were no immediate reports of damage, and no tsunami warning was issued.
