An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 struck off Tokachi, Hokkaido, at 1230 local time on 5 June 2009. The quake's epicentre was located 92 miles southwest of Kushiro. A tsunami warning was not issued, and there were no immediate reports of property damage or injuries.
