Alitalia flights continue to be disrupted
13 Nov 2008
An ongoing dispute disrupted Alitalia flights for a fourth consecutive day on 13 November 2008. Pilots and flight attendants have launched work-to-rule protests, in which airport regulations are followed so strictly that flights are severely delayed. At least 42 domestic and international flights at airports in Rome and Milan were canceled on 13 November. The actions began earlier this week with a 24-hour strike on 10 November and have resulted in more than 300 flights being either delayed or canceled. Unions representing the pilots and flight attendants have rejected offers from Italian investors to rescue the struggling airline.
