SECOND PASSPORT CHECK ADDED TO PROCEDURES AT TEL AVIV'S AIRPORT
10 Jul 2009
A second passport control check is being implemented as part of the security measures in place for departing passengers at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport. Security at Israeli airports is among the strictest in the world, and travellers currently undergo several rounds of security measures, including a passport screening before receiving boarding passes and checking their luggage. Now departing passengers will be subjected to a second passport screening so as to prevent persons from by-passing passport control, whether intentionally or accidentally. Although the second check may increase security screening times, major delays are not anticipated, as security measures are relatively efficient at Israeli airports
