Passengers exit aircraft safely after crash landing

An Iran Air Fokker-100 passenger aircraft crash-landed at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport (OIII/THR) on 14 December 2008. Aviation authorities stated that the cabin filled with smoke after the Lavan to Tehran flight experienced a rough landing at approximately 1445 local time (1105 UTC). Airline spokesmen reported that all of the passengers and crewmembers exited the aircraft safely. Investigators believe the aircraft experienced the hard landing because of a technical fault.
